Lady Maroons, Lady Red Spikers out to boost semis bids

University of the Philippines hunts for its third straight win and to solidify its bid for a semis berth.
San Beda College and University of the Philippines hope to strengthen their respective bids for a semifinals spot in a crucial collision Saturday in Group B of the inaugural Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Opening serve is at 4:00 p.m. and will air via livestream.
Both the Lady Red Spikers and the Lady Maroons display 2-1 win-loss slates at third to fourth behind unbeaten Adamson University (3-0) and reigning NCAA champion Arellano University (3-1).
The winner will solidify its chances of occupying one of the two Final Four spots at stake in the bracket while the loser would need to sweep its remaining outing and hope for a tie at second spot at the end of the elims to force a playoff.

The Lady Maroons are coming off a two-game winning run after a dropping their debut against Adamson.
UP destroyed Technological Institute of the Philippines two weeks ago before sweeping CSB, 25-19, 25-13, 25-19, last Monday.
The duo of Diana Carlos and Isa Molde will be the center of the Lady Maroons’ charge.
