Ateneo de Manila University searches for its sixth straight win and a step closer to sweeping the elimination round.
Already assured of spot in the semifinals, Ateneo de Manila University now sets its eyes on moving closer to completing an elimination round sweep of the men’s division of the inaugural Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference on Saturday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The Blue Eagles put their unbeaten slate on the line against De La Salle University at 8:00 a.m.
Ateneo parades a 5-0 win-loss record and occupies the first seat in the best-of-three semis.
The Katipunan-based squad is coming off a 25-18, 25-18, 25-18, win against University of the Philippines a week ago.
But it won’t be an easy assignment for the Blue Eagles as they will take on a team fresh from back-to-back victories.
The Green Spikers shot down San Beda College, 25-16, 23-25, 25-16, 32-30, a week ago for a 3-2 slate. A win by DLSU will give the Taft-based squad at least a semis spot playoff.
Meanwhile, National University and UP square off at 10:00 a.m. to boost their Final Four bids.
The Bulldogs are at fourth spot with a 2-3 slate while the Fighting Maroons are tied with San Beda College at sixth to seventh with 1-3 card.
