FEU parades a 3-1 win-loss record behind NU (5-0).
The Lady Tams defeated Jose Rizal University last Wednesday in straight sets, 28-26, 25-14, 25-15, sans top hitter Bernadeth Pons, who was on a tour of duty in Singapore for the Southeast Asian Beach Volleyball Championships alongside Sisi Rondina of University of Sto. Tomas.
Pons won’t see action once again as the national squad is scheduled to arrive in Manila on Monday.
A win by FEU will formally close the semis race with the Lady Tams taking then second seed in the semis against the top team in Group B.
But in case the Lady Pirates, who only have one win in four outings, score a major upset, FEU will be forced to a playoff for the last semis berth against Ateneo de Manila University (3-2) on Wednesday.
LPU is on a two-game slump and fell victim to San Sebastian College, 15-25, 26-24, 16-25, 23-25, last Wednesday.
