No holding back as stars collide in PVL All-Star Sunday
SERIOUS FUN: Expect an action-packed exhibition match and a fun day of activities in the PVL All-Star Sunday.

Expect an action-packed exhibition match when the brightest stars of the Premier Volleyball League collide in the ‘PVL All-Star Sunday’ charity match at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Creamline top setter Jia Morado vowed that she won’t hold back in the action and will bring her A-game as she leads the Rico De Guzman-mentored White Team against the Red Team bannered by Grethcel Soltones in the featured charity match at 6:00 p.m. organized to raise funds for the benefit of Hero Foundation.    

“You won’t know what to expect in the games but for sure both teams will bring their A-games naman,” said Morado. “Kasi alam naman namin na hindi lang ‘yun para sa amin, other than the fans, pati ‘yung mga beneficiaries.”

Soltones is also expected to play with the same intensity and aggressiveness as she did when she carried BaliPure to the Open Conference throne.

“Siyempre laban pa rin ito,” she said.

Event starts at 1:30 p.m. with an autograph signing and photo ops with the volleyball stars for ringside and lower box ticket holders.

The men’s exhibition match begins at 3:30 p.m. and will air via livestream. The women’s game will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream.   

Replay of the women’s match is on Oc. 31 at 6:00 p.m. while playback of the men’s game will be on Oct. 30 at 4:00 p.m. with replay on Nov. 2 at 6:00 p.m.

Morado will have in her team Pocari Sweat’s Myla Pablo, Jeannette Panaga, Elaine Kasilag, Gyzelle Sy and libero Melissa Gohing, Isa Molde of University of the Philippines, Pau Soriano of Creamline, BanKo-Perlas’ Nicole Tiamzon and Suzanne Roces, Ateneo’s Bea De Leon and Joy Cases of Philippine Air Force.

The Roger Gorayeb-mentored Team Red is composed of BaliPure’s Soltones, Jerrili Malabanan, Risa Sato, Jasmine Nabor, Aiko Urdas and Alyssa Eroa with Creamline’s Cesca Racraquin, UP’s Diana Carlos and BanKo-Perlas’ Kathy Bersola, Jem Ferrer and Amy Ahomiro.

Playing in the men’s division are Cignal’s Mark Alfafara, Lorenzo Capate, Rex Intal, Ysay Marasigan and Peter Torres for Blue Team to be handled by coach Oliver Almadro.

Joining them are Ateneo’s Marck Espejo and Ish Polvorosa, Philippine Army’s Jayvee Sumagaysay and Timothy Tajanlangit, National U’s James Natividad and Instituto Estetico Manila’s Rence Melgar.

The Yellow Team of coach Rhovyl Verayo is composed of Philippine Air Force’s Edwin Tolentino, Fauzi Ismail, Ranran Abdilla, Kim Malabunga and Rodolfo Labrador, Benjaylo Labide of Army, Vince Mangulabnan and Sandy Montero of Cignal, Francis Saura of Megabuilders and Sta. Elena’s Rico Ramirez and Berlin Paglinawan.
