PVL Team Preview: Pocari Sweat-Air Force
Myla Pablo and Pocari Sweat-air Force will have their hands full as they try to defend their PVL Reinforced Conference title.
Star hitter Myla Pablo and a rebuilding Pocari Sweat are sure to have a tough challenge as the Lady Warriors begin their title defense in the 2nd Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference starting May 6.
Pocari Sweat will be parading the core of Philippine Air Force after the departure of their key players following their campaign in the inaugural edition of the league.
Only Pablo, Elaine Kasilag and Jeannette Panaga retained their spots in the team.
The Lady Warriors lost starting setter Gyzelle Sy, top libero Melissa Gohing, Desiree Dadang, Fille Cainglet-Cayetano, Jessey De Leon and Cai Nepumoceno, who transferred to Petro Gazz, to name a few.
But Pocari Sweat landed a versatile player in Cesca Racraquin, who played for Creamline last year and brought San Beda University to a historic first Finals stint in the NCAA a few months back.
Joining the Lady Warriors are veterans Wendy Semana, Gena Andaya, Mary Ann Balmaceda, Mary Ann Pantino, Iari Yongco, Angel Antipuesto, Mae Crisostomo and middle blocker Dell Palomata.
Jasper Jimenez will call the shot for Pocari Sweat-Air Force.
The Lady Warriors are yet to name their imports.
PVL teams are given at least a month before the start of the season to finalize their respective rosters and clear their imports’ international transfer certificates (ITCs).
