High school stars Nisperos, Cagande to banner BaliPure

BaliPure is investing on future volleyball stars after tapping the core of UAAP high school powerhouse Nazareth School of National University for its lineup in the 2nd Premier Volleyball League Reinforced conference slated to begin on May 6.
The Water Defenders needed a major overhaul after most of the franchise’s players including head coach Roger Gorayeb bolted out of the team to join new team PayMaya.
Hoping to build a new program hinged on young players, BaliPure, which claimed the Open Conference crown last year, decided to bring in the core of young guns and rising stars of four-peat UAAP girls volleyball champion NU who are expected to shine as the future of Philippine volleyball.
Two-time UAAP Season Most Valuable Player and two-time Finals MVP Faith Nisperos and three-time Best Setter Joyme Cagande will banner the Water Defenders, who are yet to submit the names of their imports.
Helping Nisperos and Cagande are UAAP Season 80 MVP Mhicaela Belen, libero Jennifer Nierva, towering middles Alyssa Solomon and Ivy Lacsina, and Princess Robles, who played for the Babes Castillo-mentored Lady Bulldogs that dominated the inaugural PVL Collegiate Conference last year.
Joining the young bloods is a set of NU seniors team veterans in Rica Diolan, libero Gayle Valdez, Rosleyn Doria, Roma Joy Doromal and Audrey Paran.
Despite a very young lineup, BaliPure won’t be a pushover team with its players all looking to show their talents in the eight-team, import-laden team.
The Water Defenders could give defending champion Pocari Sweat, Creamline, PayMaya, Iriga-Navy, Petro Gazz, Tacloban and BanKo-Perlas a run for their money.
