Defending champion Pocari Sweat-Air Force shook off a rusty start as Myla Pablo and import Maddie Palmer delivered the much-needed firepower in the Lady Warriors’ 15-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-22, win over BanKo Perlas Sunday in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Reinforced Conference.
The Lady Warriors had a slow start but recovered just in time to tie their victim at 1-1 win-loss record after a sorry straight sets loss to PayMaya Saturday also at the People’s Gym in Tuguegarao.
Palmer scored 16 points anchored on 14 attacks while reinforcement Amelie Love and Pablo finished with 15 markers each for Pocari Sweat-Air Force, which played solid at the net with 11 kill blocks while landing 11 service aces. Jeanette Panaga had eight points, three off kill blocks, while Angel Antipuesto got six markers in three sets of action.
The Spikers failed to match the same intensity they had the night before when they scored an upset over the early title favorites Creamline Cool Smashers.
Thai import Jutarat Montripila and Kia Bright had 18 points each while Amy Ahomira got 10 markers for BanKo Perlas.
