PayMaya stakes unbeaten record in showdown with Creamline
PayMaya shoots for third straight win and tighten its grip at solo top spot.

PayMaya head coach Roger Gorayeb braces for another tough grind as the High Flyers stake their unbeaten record against bounce back-seeking crowd favorite Creamline in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Reinforced Conference at the People’s Gym in Tuguegarao on Sunday.

Opening serve is at 4:00 p.m. and will air via livestream.

“We just have to stay prepared for Creamline tapos hindi magpadala sa crowd nila,” said Gorayeb.

The High Flyers sport a perfect 2-0 win-loss record and are fresh off a quick work of defending champion Pocari Sweat-Air Force, 25-20, 25-19, 25-22, on Saturday.

But despite less than 24 hours of rest, Gorayeb believes that his wards are ready for a bigger challenge.

“Hindi naman bago ang mga laruang back-to-back. Siguro mas pagod kami ng kaunti pero ganoon din naman ‘yung kalaban,” he said.

American Tess Rountree, Jerrili Malabanan and import Shelby Sullivan led the way for PayMaya in their previous match. Ace hitter Grethcel Soltones played in just a single set as a reliever, reserving her power for a face off against Creamline’s Alyssa Valdez.

The Cool Smashers dropped a five-set match to BanKo Perlas Saturday for a 1-1 slate.

Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin, Valdez and Michele Gumabao scored in double figures in their last outing for Creamline, which needs to address its number of errors after committing 37 against the Spikers.
