PVL: BanKo Perlas eyes second straight win
BanKo Perlas hopes to spark a winning run and complete a sweep of its back-to-back weekend grind.

BanKo Perlas guns for back-to-back wins as the Spikers face defending champion Pocari Sweat-Air Force Sunday in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Reinforced Conference at the People’s Gym in Tuguegarao.

Game time is at 2:00 p.m. and will air via livestream.

The Spikers opened their campaign on a high note with a stunning, 22-25, 25-16, 25-23, 17-25, 15-11, win over crowd favorite Creamline Cool Smashers on Saturday.

BanKo Perlas rode on the shoulder of American import Kia Bright in the fifth set as she sparked the Spikers’ closing 8-0 rally to erase a 7-11 deficit and pull off a thrilling win that handed the Cool Smashers their first loss in two games.

Thai import Jutarat Montripila debuted in style with 29 points while Bright had 19.

Both reinforcements are expected to deliver the same numbers against the Lady Warriors, who are coming off a sorry 20-25, 19-25, 22-25, defeat at the hands of unbeaten PayMaya.

Skipper Myla Pablo was the lone bright spot for Pocari Sweat in its season opener with 12 points.

Imports Madeleine Palmer and Amelie Love, who combined for only 15 markers, need to step up together with locals Jeanette Panaga, Del Palomata and Cesca Racraquin.
