PVL: Cool Smashers take share of the lead

BATANGAS CITY –- Creamline weathered tough resistance from defending champion Pocari Sweat-Air Force to take a resounding 25-15, 27-25, 17-25, 25-19, victory for a share of the lead in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Reinforced Conference Sunday at the Batangas City Sports Coliseum here.
The Cool Smashers joined PayMaya on top of the heap with a 3-1 win-loss record.
Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin scored 16 points while Alyssa Valdez posted 16 markers of 13 kills, a kill block and a pair of aces including the match-clinching service winner to close the one-hour, 46-minute duel.
Serbian import Nina Asceric delivered timely hits in the closing stretch of the fourth set to extinguish the Lady Warriors' fight back. Asceric finished with 13 points after averaging only seven points in her first three games.
The Lady Warriors dropped to 1-2 card and saw American import Ari Love's 29-point effort go down the drain.
Love punched 23 attacks, landed five aces and a kill block in a lost cause while Maddie Palmer and skipper Myla Pablo finished with 13 and 12 markers, respectively, for Pocari Sweat-Air Force, which gave away 29 points off errrors.
