PVL: Troopers, Ultra Fast Hitters clash for second win
Powerhouse PLDT tries to spark a winning streak in a showdown with Philippine Army.

Coming off morale-boosting victories, Philippine Army and PLDT clash to start a winning streak Saturday in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference men’s division at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Opening serve is at 10:00 a.m. and will air via livestream.

Both squads started on a sour note after dropping their respective first two matches before getting the monkey off their backs with huge wins over their last assignments.

PLDT and Army share the fifth to sixth spots with 1-2 slates.

Behind the explosive 29-point output of Mark Alfafara and John Vic De Guzman’s 21 markers, the Ultra Fast Hitters dismantled defending champion Cignal, 25-20, 26-24, 26-28, 25-28, a week ago.

The Troopers leaned on veterans Banjaylo Labide, John Depamaylo and Patrick Rojas to snap a two-game slide at the expense of Philippine Air Force, 25-23, 21-25, 25-23, 25-27, 15-12, last Saturday.
