PVL: Cool Smashers target fifth straight win
Creamline hopes to build momentum before going on a long break as the Cool Smashers await their semifinals opponent.

On a roll crowd-favorite Creamline marches into its last prelims battle against skidding Iriga-Navy in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Reinforced Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan on Wednesday.

The Final Four-bound Cool Smashers are on a four-game winning streak and are at the top spot with a 5-1 win-loss record.

Creamline is looking to end the round on a high note before going into a long layoff as the Cool Smashers wait for their opponent in the best-of-three semis.

Game time is at 4:00 p.m. and will air via livestream.

With local star Alyssa Valdez and Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin leading the way, Creamline went on a four-game rampage including a straight sets demolition of BaliPure-National University, 25-22, 25-18, 25-16, last Saturday.

The Lady Oragons, on the other hand, are plunging down south.

After a four-set win over the Water Defenders to open the conference, Iriga-Navy dropped its next five game including an 18-25, 25-23, 20-25, 26-28, loss over BanKo last Sunday.

The Lady Oragons, together with BaliPure, Banko, Pocari Sweat-Air Force, Petro Gazz and Tacloban will play in another round robin quarterfinals to determine the two teams that will join Creamline and PayMaya (4-2) in the semis.
