Tacloban hopes to reassert its mastery over BanKo at the start of its quarterfinals campaign.
Tacloban looks to pick up from where it left off in the preliminary round as the Fighting Warays take on another streaking squad BanKo in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Reinforced Conference quarterfinals Saturday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Game time is at 2:00 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream.
At stake in the round robin quarterfinals are the last two semifinals tickets. Crowd favorite Creamline and PayMaya clinched the two outright Final Four spots.
The Fighting Warays closed the preliminary round at third spot with a 4-3 win-loss record and are on a two-game winning streak.
Tacloban is fresh off a five-set win over defending champion Pocari Sweat-Air Force last Sunday with Jovielyn Prado and Thai imports Hyapha Amporn and Patcharee Saengmuang leading the way.
Meanwhile, the Perlas Spikers are also on a two-game roll after snapping a three-match losing skid.
Banking on imports American Kia Bright and Thai Jutarat Montripila, BanKo stormed past PayMaya and Iriga to close the prelims.
But the Perlas Spikers need to bring their A game to avoid falling victim to Tacloban once again after the Fight Warays sent them reeling to a 27-25, 26-28, 19-25, 23-25, loss in the prelims – the start of BanKo’s three-game slide.
