PVL: Lady Oragons, Water Defenders clash to end skids
American import Janisa Johnson will need the support of BaliPure-NU's locals in their quarterfinals campaign.

BaliPure-National University and Iriga-Navy hope to open their campaign in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Reinforced Conference quarterfinals on a high note after a disappointing end in their respective runs in prelims.

The clash starts at 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream.

The Water Defenders finished the prelims with a 3-4 win-loss card, dropping their last three games.

American imports Janisa Johnson and Alexis Matthews are consistent in their offense but BaliPure-NU needs more support from its locals to end its skid.

The Lady Oragons closed the prelims in disappointing fashion. Iriga-Navy opened the conference with a four-set win over the Water Defenders but dropped its next six games.

Just like their counterparts, Americans Lauren Whyte and Macy Ubben gravely need their locals to step up to vie for the last two best-of-three semifinals spots.

Creamline and PayMaya are through to the Final Four.
