Defending champion Pocari Sweat-Air Force shook off a bad start to clip Petro Gazz, 18-25, 25-20, 26-24, 25-21, Saturday in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Reinforced Conference quarterfinals opener at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Veteran setter Wendy Semana came up big in her return from an ankle injury that forced her to skip a match as she tallied 36 excellent sets for the Lady Warriors.

American Ari Love finished with 23 points while Myla Pablo had 19 for Pocari Sweat, which frustrated Petro Gazz's hitters with 11 kill blocks. American Maddie Palmer posted 15 markers while Angel Antipuesto added eight for the Lady Warriors.

Pocari Sweat joined early round robin quarterfinals winners BaliPure-National University and BanKo.

Creamline and PayMaya secured the first two Final Four spots.

The Lady Warriors exacted revenge on their preliminary round tormentor to end a two-game slide while dealing the Angeles their second straight loss.

Ukranian Olena Lymareva-Flink had 22 points while Anastasiia Trach posted 16 markers for Petro Gazz.
