Banko sent Iriga-Navy packing in the semifinals berth race.
BanKo continued with its winning ways as the Perlas Spikers booted out Iriga-Navy, 25-17, 23-25, 28-26, 22-25, 15-12, in the semifinals berth race Wednesday in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Reinforced Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Thai import Jutarat Montripila bared her scoring prowess as she finished with 37 points to lead BanKo to its third straight win and closer to a best-of-three Final Four seat.
Montripila uncorked 31 spikes and six kill blocks while adding 12 excellent receptions and 11 digs for an all-around performance for the Perlas Spikers.
American Kia Bright scored 24 points while Amy Ahomiro had 10 for BanKo.
“Actually may mga part ng game na kaya na namin mag-pull away eh,” said Perlas Spikers coach Dong Dela Cruz. “Noong fourth set, ang laki ng lamang namin pero nagiging parang kampante lang masyado 'yung team.” “Nagre-relax, kaya nakakahabol,” he added. “On the positive note naman, maganda kasi at least nasubukan naming manalo ng five sets.”
The Lady Oragons kissed their semis hopes goodbye after absorbing their third loss in four outings. Idle Tacloban (0-3) also received the boot.
American Macy Ubben and Lauren Whyte finished with 27 points each while Divine Eguia had 10 for Iriga-Navy.
