Philippine Air Force disconnected PLDT Home Fibr in four sets to set up a best-of-three Final Four showdown against Vice Co.
Top hitter Bryan Bagunas showed his full arsenal to power Philippine Air Force to a 25-21, 24-26, 25-18, 25-23, win over PLDT Home Fibr to close their men’s round robin quarterfinals campaign in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Reinforced Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan Saturday.
Bagunas, who helped National University claim the UAAP Season 80 crown a few months back, dropped 26 points to give the Jet Spikers their third straight win and the no. 3 seed in the best-of-three Final Four against Vice Co.
The national team member unleashed 22 kills, three kill blocks and a service ace with 14 excellent receptions for a complete game for Air Force, which defeated PLDT in their prelims meeting.
Ranran Abdilla added 15 markers, 13 off attacks, while Fauzi Ismail added 12 for the Jet Spikers.
The Ultra Fast Hitters saw its two-game winning streak snapped as PLDT set up a semis showdown with top seed defending champion Cignal.
John Vic De Guzman scored all but one of his 24 points on attacks while Henry James Pecana finished with 17 markers in a lost cause for PLDT.
