Vice Co. and Philippine Air Force begin their best-of-three semifinals series.
Streaking Philippine Air Force hopes to cash in on its momentum when the Jet Spikers face second seed Vice Co. in Game 1 of the best-of-three Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Reinforced Conference men's semifinals at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Opening serve is at 6:00 p.m.
The Jet Spikers swept the round robin quarterfinals including a sweet 25-21, 24-26, 25-18, 25-23, victory over PLDT Home Fibr to claim the Final Four no. 3 seed and the right to face the well-rested Blockbusters.
Air Force found another weapon after signing up National University star Bryan Bagunas. The UAAP Season 80 Finals Most Valuable Player averaged 20.5 points per game in his two outings with the Jet Spikers.
But Air Force won’t get a cakewalk this time as the Jet Spikers face a fiesty Vice Co. side.
The Blockbusters finished the preliminary round with a 4-1 win-loss record tied with their only tormentor so far in the conference the defending champion Cignal.
Bannered by young but solid players in Jude Garcia, Kim Malabunga, Paolo Pablico, JP Bugaoan, Richard Solis and Peter Quiel, Vice Co. defeated the Jet Spikers in five sets at the end of the prelims.
Air Force is looking for payback with Ranran Abdilla, Fauzi Ismail, who scored 40 points in a lost cause in their last meeting with Vice Co., Edwin Tolentino and Reyson Fuentes looking to backup Bagunas.
