Reigning champion Pocari Sweat-Air Force will try to finish off Creamline to march back in the Finals.
Defending champion Pocari Sweat-Air Force goes for the jugular on Wednesday when they meet Creamline for the all-important Game 2 of the best-of-three Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Reinforced Conference semifinals at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Game time is at 4:00 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream.
The Lady Warriors shocked the crowd-favorite and top seed Cool Smashers in straight sets, 25-23, 25-12, 25-23, in the series opener that pushed Pocari Sweat one win away from clinching its third straight Finals appearance after advancing in the championship round in the inaugural season’s Reinforced and Open Conferences.
American imports Ari Love, Maddie Palmer and Myla Pablo showed the way for the Lady Warriors, which silenced Creamline’s hitters with punishing net defense where Pocari Sweat scored 13 kill blocks.
“Goal namin is makuha namin ‘yung game sa Wednesday syempre ‘yung Creamline babawi sila sa amin so kung ano ang ginawa namin ngayon sana magawa namin sa next game,” said Pablo.
The Cool Smashers, which came from more than three weeks layoff after clinching an outright Final Four seat, will try to force a decider on Friday.
“We have to learn the hard way now,” said Creamline star Alyssa Valdez, who was the only Cool Smasher in double figures the last time out with 16 points. “We've been playing for so long na under similar situations. All we need siguro is that tap on the back from each other go keep us going.”
Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin and American Laura Schaudt must step up after only a combined seven-point outing in Game 1.
