Pocari Sweat-Air Force and Creamline clash in a do-or-die Finals berth match.
Defending champion Pocari Sweat-Air Force and crowd-favorite Creamline go at it one last time to determine who will advance in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Reinforced Conference on Friday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The final battle of the best-of-three semifinals series is set at 2:00 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream.
The Lady Warriors drew first blood after sweeping the top seed Cool Smashers but Creamline equalized last Wednesday with a four-set victory.
Now, it will all boil down to which team wants the best-of-three championship berth the most. The Finals will begin on Sunday.
PayMaya and BanKo will also play in a do-or-die battle for the other championship seat.
Leading the Cool Smashers attempt to barge in the Finals for the first time after back-to-back third place finishes in the inaugural season is top hitter Alyssa Valdez.
Valdez had plenty of help in Game 2 with former Pocari Sweat spiker Michele Gumabao delivering 18 points while Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin and American Laura Schaudt chipping in with double-digit productions for Creamline.
Together with veteran libero Mel Gohing and prized setter Jia Morado, the Cool Smashers pose a big challenge in the Lady Warriors’ drive for a third straight conference Finals and repeat bid.
Pocari Sweat will lean on Myla Pablo and Americans Maddie Palmer and Ari Love, who suffered from a bum stomach in Game 2, to continue their Finals streak.
