Creamline and PayMaya open their best-of-three Finals series on Sunday.
Expect fireworks when crowd-favorite Creamline and PayMaya march into center court on Sunday in Game 1 of the best-of-three Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Reinforced Conference Finals at the MOA Arena.
Action starts at 4:00 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream.
The Cool Smashers barged in the Finals for the first time after a couple of third place finishes last year.
Creamline dethroned Pocari Sweat-Air Force after a grueling three-game series.
Ace spiker Alyssa Valdez and Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin finished with 15 points each to power the Cool Smashers past the limping Lady Warriors in straight sets last Friday to advance in the Finals.
This is also Valdez’s first championship stint since leading Bureau of Customs to a runner-up finish in the defunct V-League Reinforced Conference back in 2016. Valdez is also shooting to end a three-year title drought since claiming the V-League Reinforced Conference crown while playing for PLDT, which was then coach by Roger Gorayeb.
Gorayeb’s High Flyers, meanwhile, took the last Finals berth after outlasting BanKo in five-sets in their semis series do-or-die match.
American Tess Rountree and Grethcel Soltones waxed-hot in Game 3, scoring 35 and 16 points, respectively.
The duo will be Gorayeb’s main weapons as the multi-titled mentor look to add another title in his collection after steering BaliPure to the throne in the inaugural Open Conference last year.
Game 2 of the series is on Wednesday and if needed, Game 3 is on July 15.
