PVL: Lady Warriors seek to clinch third place
Pocari Sweat is out to salvage a bronze medal finish.

Pocari Sweat-Air Force American import Maddie Palmer knows the key on how to wrap up their Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Reinforced Conference battle for third series against BanKo on Wednesday at the MOA Arena.

“We gotta play better,” said Palmer, who together with the Lady Warriors will try to salvage a podium finish after losing the throne.

Game time is at 2:00 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream.

Pocari Sweat drew first blood after outlasting the Perlas Spikers, 25-22, 17-25, 16-25, 26-24, 15-11, in the opener of the best-of-three series last Sunday.

Palmer led the way with 24 points for the Lady Warriors, who played without injured top local hitter Myla Pablo.

The reinforcement knows that closing out the series won’t be an easy task, they must bring their A-game.

“We can’t start slow like we did (in Game 1) ‘cause BanKo is capable of taking advantage of that,” she said.

BanKo is looking to extend the series to a Game 3 if not take Game 2 win in a convincing fashion.

American Kia Bright, who had 33 points the last time out, Thai import Jutarat Montripila and Amy Ahomiro are expected to go all out to finally land a podium finish after a couple of fifth place finishes last year.

A straight-set or four-set win by BanKo will give the Perlas Spikers the third place trophy in case the championship series between Creamline and PayMaya ends in Game 2.
