PVL: Perlas Spikers win third place
American Kia Bright powered BanKo to a four-set win over Pocari Sweat-Air Force in Game 2 of the best-of-three battle for third series.
BanKo captured the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Reinforced Conference bronze medal after completing a come-from-behind, 23-25, 25-10, 25-14, 25-17, win in Game 2 of the best-of-three series Wednesday at the MOA Arena.
The Perlas Spikers rebounded from their five-set series opening loss last Sunday and bagged the bronze medal following the title victory of Creamline over PayMaya in a sweep of the Finals series. BanKo claimed the third place because of superior quotient.
American Kia Bright dropped 24 attacks for 27 points while Thai import Jutarat Montripila and Amy Ahomiro got 19 and 11 markers, respectively, for BanKo.
After yielding the opening set, BanKo adjusted its rotation and turned the tables around as the Perlas Spikers jumped to huge leads in the next three sets.
The Lady Warriors clipped a 12-7 deficit to just one, 13-12, but the Perlas Spikers answered with five straight points to take control of the frame before cruising to victory.
American Maddie Palmer got 14 points while Ari Love finished with 13 for Pocari Sweat.
