Adamson is back alone atop the leaderboard of the Men’s Division

Adamson University had no problems in thrusting itself ahead of the pack in the Premiere Volleyball League Season 2 Collegiate Conference Men’s Division.

Behind a balanced attack, the Soaring Falcons tamed San Beda University in straight sets, 25-23, 25-21, and 29-27 on Saturday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

For coach Neil Miranda, this third win in a row to start the season is their best one yet. “Mas maganda yung performance namin ngayon kaysa previous games namin. At least, nakita na namin yung tamang balasa ng players,” he said.

Indeed, the balanced attack proved to be too much for the Red Spikers. Geoffrey Alicando led it all with 14 points while skipper Paolo Pablico also added 12 markers.

Leo Miranda chipped in nine points and both George Labang and Royce Bello had eight markers.

Setter Franz Amburgo masterfully orchestrated it the balanced attack with 30 excellent sets.

The Red Spikers suffered their second straight setback in as many games despite the best efforts of Pat Palattao who had 17 points.

Meanwhile, University of Perpetual Help is on the board after triumphing over Far Eastern University in a five-set thriller, 19-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-18, and 15-13.

Joebert Almodel topped the scoring column with 20 points built on 18 spikes. Ronniel Rosales and Esmail Kasim also scored 12 and 10 points, respectively, to help the Altas improve to 1-3.
