PVL: UST preserves unbeaten slate in five-set win over DLSU

University of Sto. Tomas outlasted De La Salle University in five sets to remain unbeaten after three outings.
University of Sto. Tomas kept its unbeaten streak going in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Collegiate Conference men’s division Sunday.
The Growling Tigers added De La Salle University to their list of victims after a hard-earned 25-19, 23-25, 17-25, 25-19, 15-10, win at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Behind the 20-point outing of Manuel Medina, UST copped its third straight win to move to a share of the lead with Adamson University.
Medina pumped in 18 attacks while adding 12 digs to pace the Tigers. Joshua Umandal added 19 points while Genesis Redido and Tyrone Carodan scored 11 each for the Espana-based squad, which uncorked 57 points off attacks.
The Green Spikers absorbed their third straight loss in as many games.
Geraint Bacon and Cris Dumago led DLSU with 15 and 14 markers, respectively.
Meanwhile, University of the Philippines claimed its second straight win after taking down Arellano University, 25-22, 25-21, 22-25, 25-19.
John Millete produced 20 points with 18 coming off spikes while Jerry San Pedro had 14 for the Fighting Maroons. Matthew Gohoc and Gian San Pascual had 11 each.
Former UP player Christian dela Paz finished with 13 for the Chiefs, which dropped to 0-2, while Roi Domingo got 10 markers.
