"Champion nga sila [sa NCAA] pero kami, UAAP naman kami." -- former player and now assistant coach Michael Sudaria
Adamson University remained undefeated in four outings after demolishing University of Perpetual Help with a straight set rout, 25-15, 25-21, 25-12, Sunday morning in the second season of the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
The Soaring Falcons were confidently unfazed with the challenge at hand facing the NCAA champion Altas.
"Champion nga sila [sa NCAA] pero kami, UAAP naman kami. Yun ang pagbabasehan dun. Di kami papatalo," said former player and now Adamson assistant coach Michael Sudaria.
"Pride na lang talaga pinaglalabanan dito sa UAAP at NCAA so syempre, malaking panalo ito sa amin."
Adamson made it look so easy to bag their fourth victory by only allowing Perpetual a total of 48 points in three sets. Perpetual may be NCAA defending champions but the lack of experience of the new players in the team now played a huge factor as they sag to a 1-3 record.
"Chill lang na may halong focus [yung laro namin]," added Sudaria.
Paolo Pablico scored the most for the Falcons with 16 points while Leo Miranda chipped in 10. On the other hand, no Perpetual player reached double digits. Ridzuan Muhali and Joebert Almodiel both scored seven points each.
The Soaring Falcons will try to make it to five as they face Far Eastern University on August 8 while the Altas will seek for a bounce back win at the expense of College of Saint Benilde Blazers on the same day.
