The University of Santo Tomas overcame careless errors and punched their fourth straight win over the College of Saint Benilde, 25-23, 26-24, 25-23, Sunday morning in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference Season 2 at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
Committing a total of 32 errors, the Golden Spikers shook it all off and prevailed to still be the better team especially during the close out set.
It was a seesaw affair for UST and Benilde as both teams exchanged points and errors. But Benilde failed to seal a single set due to Joshua Umandal and Manuel Medina's attacks.
In the third set, UST took it all home with Benilde's back-to-back errors.
Umandal and Medina scored the most for UST with 16 and 15 points respectively. On the Benilde side, Ruvince Abrot gave nine points while Owen Bacani and Francis Basilan added eight points each.
UST, now at 4-0, will seek for their fifth win on August 11 against Adamson while Benilde, 1-2, will take on Perpetual next on August 8.
