“Gusto kong high intensity yung lagi nilang lalaruin." - UP head coach Hans Chuacuco
The University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons Mac Millette and Joshua Castillo teamed up to make quick work of the University of Perpetual Help, 25-23, 25-17, 27-25, Saturday morning at the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference Season 2.
Taking advantage of the error prone Altas, the Fighting Maroons improved to a 3-2 record.
“Gusto kong high intensity yung lagi nilang lalaruin,” said UP head coach Hans Chuacuco.
And that high intensity game was provided by Millette who poured in 14 kills and an ace and Castillo who added 12 markers.
Perpetual's Joebert Almodiel and Ronniel Rosales powered 13 and 11 points in a losing effort.
UP will take on Benilde next on August 15 while Perpetual will meet Arellano on August 19 to improve a sagging 1-5 record.
In the late game, the College of Saint Benilde extended Arellano University's woes in a straight set rout, 25-22, 25-22, 25-22.
CSB has now beaten all NCAA teams in the PVL Collegiate Conference namely San Beda, Perpetual, and now Arellano.
The Blazers upped their record to 3-2 and will take on UP on August 15 while Arellano, which dropped to a dismal 0-5, takes on FEU the same day.
