National University is out to preserve its unblemished record and a share of the lead.
Unbeaten National University takes on a surging Far Eastern University side on Sunday as the Bulldogs chase for a piece of the lead in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Collegiate Conference men's division at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Game time is at 11:00 a.m. after the San Beda University-De La Salle University battle in the curtain-raiser at 9:00 a.m.
NU strung four straight wins to open their campaign including a 25-13, 25-20, 23-25, 26-24, victory over University of the Philippines last Wednesday.
The Bulldogs are at second spot behind league-leading University of Sto. Tomas.
NU head coach Dante Alinsunurin will pin is hopes on veteran scorers Bryan Bagunas, Francis Saura, Madzlan Gampong and Kim Malabunga to add the Tamaraws in their list of victims.
But it won’t be an easy task especially against a FEU, which turned its fortune around with its recent resurgence.
After two straight losses to open their conference, the Tams rolled past their next two opponents capped by a huge five-set win over erstwhile unbeaten Adamson University the last time out.
The trio of JP Bugaoan, who scored 26 points against the Falcons, Redijohn Paler and Peter Quiel will carry the fight for the Tams.
Meanwhile, the Green Spikers will try to end a four-game losing skid against the Red Lions, who are on the hunt for their third win in a row.
San Beda holds a 2-2 slate while DLSU is winless on four tries tied with Arellano University.
