National University hopes to avoid falling to a second straight defeat.
After seeing its winning streak snapped, National University seeks to return in the win column in a showdown with slumping Adamson University in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Collegiate Conference men's division at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Game time is at 9:00 a.m. in the curtain-raiser of a three-match playdate.
The Bulldogs went on a winning spree in their first five assignments but hit a brick wall last Wednesday when NU absorbed a four-set upset defeat at the hands of lowly De La Salle University.
The defeat pulled the Bulldogs down to solo second spot with a 5-1 win-loss record behind unbeaten and league-leading University of Sto. Tomas (6-0).
A win by NU will not only bring the Bulldogs back in the win column but will hand them at least a playoff for a semifinals berth.
But winning is easier said than done especially against a squad raring to stop a two-game bleeding.
The Falcons suffered a straight sets beating at the hands of the Tigers last week to slide to 4-2 mark at joint third to fourth spot with University of the Philippines.
Meanwhile, Far Eastern University takes on San Beda University at 11:00 a.m. while DLSU hopes to ride the momentum of its huge win over NU when it squares off with College of St. Benilde in the nightcap at 6:00 p.m.
FEU and CSB are tied at 3-3 while San Beda and DLSU have identical 2-4 cards.
