University of Sto. Tomas prized rookie Eya Laure could miss the Tigresses’ Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Collegiate Conference end of the elimination match against Far Eastern University next week in Cagayan De Oro.
The freshman dislocated her right shoulder and had to skip the semis-bound UST’s showdown against Adamson Saturday to rest.
Laure helplessly watched from the bench as the Lady Falcons handed the Tigresses their first loss in six games in a 25-15, 24-26, 23-25, 20-25, decision.
Laure sustained her injury two weeks ago during weights training as UST was building up for a match against College of St. Benilde, which the Tigresses swept with the hitter seeing limited action.
Nursing an injury, Laure might opt to sit out their out-of-town match against the Lady Tamaraws.
“Hindi ko pa rin masasabi pero siguro by semis makakalaro na ulit ako,” she said.
But Laure will travel with the team in CDO and remains optimistic that in a week’s time she would be able to recover and be given the green light to play.
