PVL: Tigers hunt for first semis seat

Still perfect University of Sto. Tomas shoots for the first Final Four berth in a showdown with University of the Philippines Sunday in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Collegiate Conference men’s division at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Tigers are unbeaten in six matches to keep a firm hold of the solo top spot.

UST is looking to extend its winning streak to seven in the scheduled 11:00 a.m. match after the 9:00 a.m. duel between NCAA Season 93 finalists University of Perpetual Help and Arellano University.

The Tigers are on a roll, winning five of their six matches in straight sets including their last three games.

But the Fighting Maroons are expected to give UST challenge especially with UP coming off back-to-back wins via sweep.

The Maroons sport a 4-2 slate.

Meanwhile, Perpetual will try to notch its second win to remain in contention for a semis seat.

The reigning NCAA champions Altas hold a 1-5 mark while the Chiefs are winless in six outings.
