PVL: FEU, UST out to forge Finals showdown
Far Eastern University tries to complete an upset over top seed National University and clich a Finals seat.

Far Eastern University and University of Sto. Tomas shoot to set up a championship date when they face their respective Final Four foes on Sunday in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Collegiate Conference men’s division at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Tamaraws collide with National University in Game 2 of the best-of-three semifinals at 11:00 a.m. after the Tigers’ 9:00 a.m. clash with Adamson University.

No. 4 FEU pulled off a huge upset Saturday after the Tams, who needed to survive a playoff for the last semis seat against College of St. Benilde last Wednesday, shocked the top seed Bulldogs, 21-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-23.

UST also moved a step closer to the championship round after a four-set, 25-18, 25-22, 16-25, 32-30, win over the Falcons to draw first blood in their series.

But Adamson and NU won’t go down without a fight as both squads try to extend the series.

Game 3, if needed, is on September 8.
