PVL: FEU, UP start Finals series
The road to the throne begins for Far Eastern University and University of the Philippines.

Two very hungry teams square off for crown and glory in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Collegiate Conference.

Far Eastern University hopes to settle an unfinished business when it meets a title-parched University of the Philippines Sunday in Game 1 of the best-of-three series at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Action begins at 6:30 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream.

The Lady Tamaraws will get another shot at the elusive title after falling short in last year’s edition. FEU is in its third straight title appearance after runner-up finishes in the inaugural PVL Collegiate Conference and in UAAP Season 80.

The Morayta-based squad look to cling on its championship experience and veteran crew to take down the Lady Maroons, which the Lady Tams defeated in their elims meeting.

“Malaking advantage ang experience namin sa championship and experienced na rin ang mga players ko compared sa kanila,” said FEU coach George Pascua.

While the Lady Tams see experience as their edge, UP head coach Godfrey Okumu believes that the thirst of the Lady Maroons for glory will fuel their desire to win it all.

“They have waited for this for a long time,” said Okumu.

FEU will bank on seasoned players Jerrili Malabanan, top setter Kyle Negrito, Heather Guino-o, Jeanette Villareal and rookie Lycha Ebon.

Isa Molde, Marian Buitre, Rosely Rosier, Marist Layug and Ayel Estranero will banner UP’s fight.

The Lady Tams advanced to the Finals after defeating University of Sto. Tomas while the Lady Maroons booted out Adamson University in their semis showdown.
