Medyo mahirap din ang sitwasyon namin, manalo si Adamson sa amin by four sets next time tapos matapos ang finals, tapos na ang boxing --UST coach Kungfu Reyes
University of Sto. Tomas took the opening game of its Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Collegiate Conference best-of-three battle for third series against Adamson University in thrilling fashion on Sunday.
But despite having a foot on the podium, UST head coach Kungfu Reyes remains wary of their precarious situation.
UST can seal the bronze medal finish on Wednesday, but a loss could spell trouble for the Tigresses’ goal under the league’s format.
“Medyo mahirap din ang sitwasyon namin, manalo si Adamson sa amin by four sets next time tapos matapos ang finals, tapos na ang boxing,” said Reyes after UST outlasted the Lady Falcons, 25-20, 27-29, 13-25, 25-19, 17-15.
A win by Adamson in Game 2 in three or four sets coupled by a series sweep in the Finals showdown between University of the Philippines and Far Eastern University will hand the Lady Falcons the third place trophy.
“Pero hindi muna kami mag-aano (focus) doon, sabi ko nga sa kanila, ‘wag niyong intindihin ‘yung points, intidihin niyo kung paano kayo gagalaw,” said Reyes.
But UST has its fate in its hands.
All the Tigresses have to do is to finish off Adamson.
