PVL Finals: Tigresses out to seal third place
University of Sto. Tomas shoots for the podium finish.

University of Sto. Tomas sets its eyes on the third place prize when the Tigresses face Adamson University in Game 2 of their best-of-three series in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Collegiate Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Game time is at 4:00 p.m. and will air via livestream.

The Tigresses drew first blood in a come-from-behind 25-20, 27-29, 13-25, 25-19, 187-15 win last Sunday.

Fil-Italian sophomore Milena Alessandrini registered a career-high 31 points to lead the Espana-based squad in Game 1. She and prized hitter Eya Laure are expected to deliver once again for UST, which will try to claim the bronze medal and avoid the complications of a tied best-of-three series.

Despite leading the series, 1-0, the Tigresses are still in a must-win situation.

A loss by UST in three or four sets coupled by a Finals series sweep by University of the Philippines over Far Eastern University will hand the Lady Falcons the third place trophy under the league’s format.

Something that Adamson would like to accomplish.

Game 3 if needed is on Sunday.
