PVL: Almadro to Dani Ravena: Walang duwag na Ravena
Oliver Almadro brings his own brand of motivational speaking to women's volleyball.

If you are not familiar with Oliver Almadro, he was the highly emotional and animated coach of the Ateneo Men's Volleyball Team known for motivational speeches during timeouts and expressive sideline antics.

Now, with Almadro taking the head coaching job for the Ateneo Lady Eagles, it's time for women's volleyball to experience the Almadro-brand of motivation.

In Ateneo-Motolite's debut match in the PVL Open Conference Sunday afternoon, second year libero Dani Ravena received just that.

After consecutive misreceptions by Ravena in the third set versus Pocari-Air Force, Almadro singled her out in this inspirational timeout.

"Ravena ka. Walang duwag na Ravena," said Almadro, "You're doing good, believe me."

He said this to the youngest of the Ravena siblings who came from a family of athletes. From her father Bong, who was a former UAAP and PBA player and now the head coach of Talk N' Text to her mother Mozzy, who is a former volleyball player and current TV analyst, down to his tremendous baller brothers Kiefer and Thirdy, a lot is expected from Dani.

True enough, after that, Ravena and the rest of the Lady Eagles bounced back to take home the match at the fourth set.

After the thrilling game, Almadro expressed to reporters that that kind of motivation is something that he is sure to always offer to the Lady Eagles because after all, that is his thing.

"Siguro [gumana], kasi nakabalik eh," he said with a chuckle, "Siguro nakatulong yon. Sana mga ganun ko, alam niyo naman hyper ako eh, sana yung mga ganun ko mag click sa utak nila."

"Wala naman talagang Ravenang duwag eh, tama naman," he added.

Fans on Twitter also took delight in that moment of Almadro and Ravena. For a while, that timeout trended.

Don't worry fans of the Ateneo Lady Eagles, all of you are bound to see more of Almadro's motivational goodness in the next games.
