Gagawin ko yung best ko para maipakita sa kanila kung sino ba talaga ako --Pocari Sweat-Air Force's Jeanette Panaga (no. 3)
Pocari Sweat-Air Force’s Jeanette Panaga is slowly getting into the same form that won her three straight middle blocker citations.
The former College of St. Benilde standout made her presence felt as the Lady Warriors collected their third straight win over Adamson University-Akari, 25-23, 25-22, 25-16, Wednesday in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Open Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.
Panaga wreaked havoc at the net as she and Del Palomata scored five kill blocks each for the Lady Warriors. Both finished with nine points each.
Head coach Jasper Jimenez was all praises for Panaga, who led CSB to its breakthrough NCAA crown in 2016.
“Panaga is best blocker talaga. Alam natin yan, may titulo na yan si Jeannette,” said Jimenez of Panaga, who won the PVL Season 1 Reinforced Conference 2nd Best Middle Blocker, last year’s Open Conference 1st Best Middle Blocker and last Reinforced Conference’s 1st Best Middle Blocker.
Panaga averaged 8.6 points in Pocari Sweat’s last three games that helped the squad recover from an opening day setback against Ateneo-Motolite.
“Siguro si Coach Jasper sobrang tiwala lang din sa akin, then every game din naman nagma-mindset ako na kailangan as a middle blocker kailangan every game may maipakita ako sa blocking,” said Panaga.
With her coach showing confidence and trust in her, Panaga vowed to repay it with giving her A-game every match.
“Sa tiwala at kumpiyansa niya sa akin ‘yun siguro yung nakakapag-boost ng morale ko na everyday gagawin ko yung best ko para maipakita sa kanila kung sino ba talaga ako,” she said.
