BanKo extended its winning streak to three and remained unscathed in the PVL Season 2 Open Conference.
BanKo shrugged off a second set meltdown to grab its third straight win and remain unscathed in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Open Conference.
The Perlas Spikers prevailed over the skidding Adamson-Akari, 25-20, 19-25, 25-22, 25-16, and tightened their grip of the solo lead Saturday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Fresh off a third place finish in the Vinh Long Cup in Vietnam, BanKo returned to action in the first of its back-to-back weekend schedule in a rather sluggish start.
Head coach Dong Dela Cruz had to dig deep in his bench to find the right rotation as BanKo’s game slowly got back into rhythm.
Dzi Gervacio spearheaded the Perlas Spikers’ scoring with 24 points with all but one coming off attacks while Amanda Villanueva added 14. Kathy Bersola and Nicole Tiamzon, who was nursing a right shoulder injury, combined for 15 markers for BanKo.
“Medyo tinamaan kami ng injuries. Si Tiammy may inaano kasi na injury sa shoulder tapos yung iba medyo may masasakit,” said Dela Cruz. “Kung nakita nyo ang rotation ng tao, tiningnan ko na lang kung anong rotation ang mayroon para manalo kami.”
In less than 24 hours the Perlas Spikers will take on another unbeaten team Ateneo-Motolite (2-0).
The Lady Falcons absorbed their third loss in as many outings despite the 20-point effort of Bernadette Flora.
