PVL: Cool Smashers score back-to-back wins
Creamline captured its second straight win to move to 2-1 win-loss record tied with Ateneo-Motolite.

Creamline continued with its rise after scoring its second straight victory with a 25-13, 25-12, 25-9, drubbing of listless Iriga-Navy in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Open Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Alyssa Valdez was at her usual dangerous self as she led the Cool Smashers to another emphatic sweep to move up the standings with a 2-1 win-loss record tied with Ateneo-Motolite.

Valdez finished with 16 points built on 12 kills, three kill blocks and an ace while playing superb floor coverage with 14 digs. Jema Galanza added eight markers while Rizza Mandapat and Risa Sato finished with six points each.

Gumabao, who will be out for at least three weeks to compete in the 2018 Miss Globe competition, saw action in just the first two sets and finised with six points for the Cool Smashers, who outgunned Iriga-Navy, 41-12.

The Lady Oragons absorbed its fifth straight defeat in as many outings to remain at the bottom of the heap.

Divine Eguia got six points while Rizalie Amaro and Grazielle Bombita combined for six markers for Iriga-Navy, which gave away 24 points on errors.
