PVL: Yee looking for new Angels
Petrogazz needs new Angels.

After surviving a tough schedule that featured playing five games in nine days, the Petrogazz Angels wrapped their first round run in the Premier Volleyball League with a 4-3 record. With the tight itinerary and fatigue attributed as factors, the Angels dropped close games in the first round.

Nonetheless, Coach Jerry Yee is resigned to the fact that he has no choice but to work around it. In fact, they ended their first round with a win over the hapless Adamson Lady Falcons, Saturday evening.

"Rugged yung schedule namin eh. Pero siguro ganun talaga kasi mawawala yung coaching staff during the games tapos yung ibang teams may lakad. Wala eh, nandyan na eh. So prepare and fight na ulit," said Yee.

Petrogazz will enjoy a three-week break before they go back on November 3 as they face Iriga-Navy.

Yee bared that in those three weeks, he wishes to recruit replacement players for Marites Pablo and Rachel Ann Austero. The two active college players for College of Saint Benilde will be playing in the UniGames and the NCAA.

"Yeah actually mawawala na sila kasi mag Uni Games sila tapos one game na lang maabutan nila pagbalik kasi eligibility na," Yee said who also coaches Benilde's women's volleyball team.

With Pablo and Austero gone plus some injured players, Yee has at least two more slots in the team that needs to be filled for the rest of the season.

"Dalawa lang, but then may mga injured din tayong players. Ito still looking [for players]. Let's see. Kaya inayos natin yung rotation. Halos yung dalawang mawawala may papalit naman na sa kanila pero may dalawa pa kaming slot," Yee shared.
