Dzi Gervacio is playing at her best in the PVL Season 2 Open Conference and her statistics says its all.
Dzi Gervacio has been consistently delivering the goods for BanKo in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Open Conference.
The former Ateneo de Manila University standout in her first all-Filipino stint as a Perlas Spiker is in her vintage form and her numbers in the stats sheet say it all.
Gervacio is averaging 16.8 point per game and her 17-point explosion Wednesday helped BanKo get back on the right track after a two-game slump.
The open spiker pounded 15 kills and landed a couple of aces while putting up 10 digs in the Perlas Spikers’ 25-22, 25-21, 25-19, victory over Iriga-Navy at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
It was a quick win for BanKo as it improved to 6-2 win-loss record and completed an elims sweep of the Lady Oragons.
“Gusto lang namin makabawi kasi last round we won in four sets,” she said. “So at least kahit mabagal ang pace straight sets pa rin.”
All thanks to another superb effort by Gervacio, who finished the first round at the third spot in scoring behind Alyssa Valdez of Creamline and Pocari Sweat’s Myla Pablo.
“Siguro I wasn’t aware also (of my stats) kasi coming into Open Conference ni-remind din ako ng mga coaches namin na we want you to step up and be one of the leaders inside the court,” said Gervacio.
However, Gervacio, who is second in attack efficiency (33.76%) behind Valdez (40.46%) after the first seven games and in the top 10 in service and digs, is not too keen on chasing individual glory but would rather play her role well to bring glory to BanKo.
“I think its cherry on top, the main goal naman is to finish no. 1,” she said.
