Adamson-Akari hopes for a better second round outing after a disappointing start.
After languishing at the cellar in the first round, Adamson-Akari hopes for a better outing in the final half of the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Open Conference elimination round.
The Lady Falcons marches into battle Saturday in a rematch with Iriga-Navy at the Imus Sports Center in Imus, Cavite.
Game time is at 4:00 p.m. and will air live on LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183 and via livestream.
Adamson-Akari dropped all of its seven outings in the first round including an 18-25, 25-23, 21-25, 26-24, 11-15 defeat at the hands of the Lady Oragons last week.
The Lady Falcons struggled early after losing veterans Eli Soyud and Le-Ann Perez and rookie Trisha Genesis to injuries but showed some sign of improvement in the latter part of the first round. Adamson-Akari pushed Ateneo-Motolite and Iriga-Navy to the limit in their last two assignments.
“I think we ended the first round playing better, we just need to build on it,” said Lady Falcons coach Air Padda. “I think we can win games in the second round but everyone else got better too so I don’t know.”
The Lady Oragons hold a 1-7 win-loss slate and are coming off a straight sets loss to BanKo in their second round opener last Wednesday.
Iriga-Navy will bank on veterans Joanne Bunag, Nene Bautista and Grazielle Bombita for a repeat over the Lady Falcons.
