PVL: Lady Oragons sweep Lady Falcons in elims rematch

Iriga-Navy returned in the win column after sweeping Adamson-Akari.
IMUS --- Iriga-Navy completed its elimination round sweep of Adamson-Akari, 25-18, 26-24, 25-23, Saturday to get back on the winning track in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Open Conference at the Imus Sports Complex here.
The Lady Oragons once again overpowered the only team they defeated in the first round to improve to 2-7 win-loss record while burying the hapless Lady Falcons further south.
Veteran hitter Joanne Bunag finished with 16 points to lead the Lady Oragons, hammering 13 attacks and two aces while adding 17 digs. Nene Bautista had 13 markers built on 10 kills while chipping in 14 digs and eight excellent receptions for Iriga-Navy.
Florence Madulid got 11 points and Shyrra Cabriana tallied 18 excellent sets in the Lady Oragons’ 40 attack points.
Iriga-Navy will face Tacloban on Sunday in its last of back-to-back weekend schedule.
Adamson-Akari absorbed its eighth loss in as many games including back-to-back losses to the Lady Oragons, who defeated them in five sets last week.
No Lady Falcon scored in double figures with Ceasa Pinar scoring seven points while Bernadeth Flora and Krich Macaslang combined for 11 markers.
