PVL: Lady Eagles stake hold of lead
Ateneo-Motolite eyes its third straight win in a rematch with Tacloban.

League-leading Ateneo-Motolite marches back into action Saturday in a rematch against Tacloban in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Open Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Lady Eagles will try to ride the crest of their two-game winning stream in the battle set to explode at 4:00 p.m. and will air live on LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183 and via livestream.

Ateneo-Motolite opened its second round of eliminations campaign on a high note after downing Pocari Sweat-Air Force last Saturday before scoring a huge win over first round tormentor Creamline in an exciting five-set thriller.

The Lady Eagles are currently at solo lead with a 7-2 win-loss record.

With their three starters in Maddie Madayag, Ponggay Gaston and Kat Tolentino back in the fold after skipping their first round encounter with the Alyssa Valdez-led Cool Smashers to complete an academic requirement, the Lady Eagles showed their grit and heartstrong mantra to outlast Creamline, 25-18, 25-20, 15-25, 23-25, 15-12, in Batangas City.

Ateneo-Motolite also holds the psychological edge over the Fighting Warays after tripping Tacloban in five sets in their first meeting.
The Fighting Warays are coming off a 20-25, 25-15, 25-27, 23-25, loss to Iriga-Navy last week.

Tacloban is tied with Pocari Sweat at fourth to fifth spot with 4-5 slate.
