PVL: Perlas Spikers grab solo second place
BanKo captured its second straight win at the expense of listless Adamson-Akari.

BanKo snatched its second straight victory to move to solo second spot after quick work of hapless Adamson-Akari, 25-17, 25-17, 25-18, Sunday in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Open Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

The Perlas Spikers showed no signs of rust despite an 11-day layoff, taking care of business in just 73 minutes for a 7-2 win-loss record.

Kathy Bersola showed the way for BanKo with 13 points as the former University of the Philippines standout cashed in from good trips at the service line after landing four aces spiked by seven kills and two kill blocks.

Dzi Gervacio scored all of her 10 points on attacks while Nicole Tiamzon nailed eight kills for 10 points for the Perlas Spikers.

The Perlas Spikers capitalized on the Lady Falcons’ sluggish game to claim an easy win and solidify their bid for a spot in the Final Four.

Adamson-Akari gave away 24 points off its errors and allowed BanKo to pound 39 attack points.

The Lady Falcons dropped their ninth straight in as many games and are now on the brink of kissing their Final Four hopes goodbye.

Bernadette Flora finished with 11 points as the only Adamson-Akari player in double figures.
