PVL: Lady Eagles eye first semis seat
Ateneo-Motolite guns for its fifth straight win and a spot in the semifinals.

Ateneo-Motolite goes for the first Final Four seat in a rematch against first round tormentor Banko on Saturday in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Open Conference at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center.

The Lady Eagles are on top of the standings with a 9-2 win-loss record and are on a four-game winning streak.

Another victory by Ateneo-Motolite in the 6:00 p.m. duel will hand the Lady Eagles a seat in the best-of-three Final Four. The game will air live on LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183 and via livestream.

Behind the solid games of Kat Tolentino, Maddie Madayag, rookie Vanessa Gandler and Bea De Leon, the Lady Eagles went on a tear in the second round, beating Pocari Sweat-Air Force, Creamline, Tacloban and Iriga-Navy.

But Ateneo-Motolite is bracing for a tough challenge against the Perlas Spikers.

BanKo beat the Lady Eagles in straight sets in the first round.

The Perlas Spikers hold a 7-2 card at second to third place tied with the Cool Smashers and are coming off back-to-back victories.

Dzi Gervacio, Nicole Tiamzon, Joy Dacoron and Kathy Bersola will lead the charge BanKo.
