PVL: Angels seek to boost semis bid vs. Lady Eagles
PetroGazz seeks to solidify its bid to secure the last Final Four ticket.

PetroGazz tries to add more separation from its pursuers for the last Final Four spot when the Angels meet an Ateneo-Motolite side looking to finish the elims strong Saturday in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Open Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Opening serve is at 6:00 p.m. and will air live on LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183 and via livestream.

The Angels are at solo no. 4 spot, holding a 6-5 win-loss record, but are still in a precarious position in the race for the last semis seat with Tacloban (5-7) and Pocari Sweat-Air Force (5-7) breathing down their necks.

PetroGazz hopes to draw inspiration from its straight sets shocker over BanKo last week to subdue the Lady Eagles, who handed the Angels a painful five-set setback in their first meeting. A win will give PetroGazz at least a playoff for the last semis spot.

But it will be a tough task for the Angels to accomplish especially with Ateneo-Motolite bent on claiming the top seed in the best-of-three semis.
The Lady Eagles carry a 10-3 slate and were the first to advance in the Final Four followed by Creamline (9-2) and BanKo (9-3).

Ateneo-Motolite beat Adamson-Akari last week.
