Eliminated Pocari Sweat-Air Force wants to exit the season-ending conference with its head held up high.
Pocari Sweat-Air Force and Adamson-Akari clash in a battle of ousted teams Wednesday in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Open Conference at the Batangas City Coliseum.
Already eliminated in the semifinals race, the two squads collide at 4:00 p.m. hoping to end their respective slumps. The match will air live on LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183 and via livestream.
The Lady Warriors are looking to close their campaign in the season-ending conference on a winning note after missing the Final Four for the first time in franchise history.
Pocari Sweat, which is coming of a straight sets win over Iriga-Navy, sports a 6-7 win-loss record and is tied with Tacloban. Plagued by stinging five-set losses, the Lady Warriors' hunt for the last best-of-three semifinals berth ended after PetroGazz clinched its eighth win.
Meanwhile, the Lady Falcons march into their 13th outing still searching for the elusive win.
Bitten by the injury bug throughout the conference, the Collegiate Conference bronze medal winner Adamson-Akari struggled.
The Lady Falcons absorbed a straight-set drubbing at the hands of the Angels last Sunday but did found some bright spot in the match after top hitter Eli Soyud saw action for the first time.
Though playing only in the third set, Soyud’s five-point outing is good news for Adamson-Akari which is using the tournament as part of its preparation for the UAAP next year.
