PVL: Cool Smashers out to secure semis no. 1 seed
Creamline hunts for the top spot in the best-of-three semifinals.

Creamline seeks to clinch the no. 1 spot in the Final Four on Saturday in a showdown with winless Adamson-Akari at the close of the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Open Conference double-round robin eliminations at the Batangas City Coliseum.

Opening serve is at 4:00 p.m. and will air live on LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183 and via livestream.

The Cool Smashers sport a 10-3 win-loss record tied with BanKo.

Creamline has the inside track of landing the top spot in the best-of-three semifinals against No. 4 seed PetroGazz, needing only to win over the limping Lady Falcons. Even in a scenario where the Cool Smashers and Perlas Spikers end the elims with identical 11-3 card, Creamline will still get the no. 1 seed by virtue of higher points earned.

But Adamson-Akari will try to play spoiler as it shoots for the elusive win one last time.

The Lady Falcons, which finished third in the Collegiate Conference, are winless in 13 outings. Adamson-Akari got beaten black and blue by Creamline in straight sets in the first round.
